Watchout, He’s Trying To Communicate YOU

I am on a forum that deals with the mind and how it works and all the different nuances that goes into communication. And just like everyday life people interpret what another is doing or saying through their own filters. Or as My Grampa Vetter would say, “We view everything through or own BS. And of course everyone knows what BS is, right? BELIEF SYSTEM.”

In my own BS-Belief System I sent out a post to the group telling them about an event that was going on right now until the end of the month, which is just a few days away. The reason I was letting them know is a lot of good hard working people were giving away their products and information at no cost. In other words for 30 days instead of charging money for some of their material they were giving it away FREE in a centralized fashion to help each other and their customers.

Another member of the forum felt the need point out that there was hypnotic selling going on in my post and commented on the numerous language patterns he noticed. He also wrote that he had began to notice in old TV shows like ‘The Brady Bunch’ and ‘The Partridge Family’, that  it’s interesting how many language patterns were just slipped in… and more and more so as the shows got to the 80s.

Yes my friend you have caught me. Trying to help others without them knowing it or was that without me knowing it.

I learned long ago that all communication is an attempt to persuade, convince, establish, strengthen or convey a particular point of view. I wrote that in one of my first books long, long ago in a land far, far away. ( i.e ALL communication is a sales pitch, hypnotic or otherwise.) Not all communication does it effectively, however there is plenty of free communications, sales and hypnosis training material over at (until the end of the month-a little Robert Cialdini scarcity that is true)

Getting someone to love you is a sales job. Getting someone to stay in love with you is also a sales job. Getting others to follow your instructions, from children to co-workers to spouses, is a sales job. Sometimes for some people getting up in the morning is a sales job. 

I also understand that some may try and sell me the idea that not all communications is a sales pitch. They will also attempt to sale me on the idea that education and educators don’t sell. And I will agree most educators don’t sell well, simply look at their customers, the average high school graduates. That is why the sales efforts of people like Win Winger is so important to the youth of our nation.

Now Win may not consider himself a salesman and yet everything he writes is there to persuade, convince and convey what he has found that works. Call it education but the actuality is good education is sales. If it doesn’t sale it doesn’t get used. If Win or someone doesn’t sell educators on the idea it
doesn’t get any results.

It just so happens that my sales persuasion in that note to the group was directed to something that is FREE until the end of the month. FREE as far as a monetary cost. NO MULLA, NO Denario No $$$$. Not free in the amount of time it will take to master whatever FREE products you get. But like my Gampa Vetter would say, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him
milk a cow.”

1) Absolutley
2) Right on
3) If someone tells you, “Good Morning” it is an attempt to sell you on the idea – Perhaps even several ideas, which could include:
a) I care about you
b) Cheer up, you grouch
c) I’m having a good morning – don’t mess it up
d) I’m really feeling wonderful this morning, but if I truly expressed how blissed I am, you’d probably take it the wrong way, so I’ll just say Good morning and let it go at that…
………etc. YES – we ALL are in the process of selling or being sold – something — 24/7.. and – since YOU are the meaning maker, you get to decide whether to ‘buy into’ the idea(s) – or not. 😉
